Volunteering

The hospital views each volunteer as a link between the community and the hospital. Volunteers promote the goodwill of the hospital through their knowledge of its operation and needs. Volunteers provide an added service that can help make the day for patients, their family and the staff.

Volunteers assist in the following areas of our hospital:  Patient Registration, Med/Surg Unit, Same Day Care, Administration, Laboratory, Radiology, Physical Therapy, Health Information, Nutrition Services, Materials Management, Business Office and Human Resources.

How to become a Volunteer?

Stop by or call Volunteer Services at (740) 568-2043 to request an application.  The Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to set up an interview you in order to evaluate your needs and interests.  You will be asked to attend a hospital orientation to become familiar with the hospital procedures.

Selby Volunteers mean a lot to the hospital. We also realize that people sometimes need change, and while a volunteer might sign up to work in one location, they might want to experience other work stations. We are more than willing to re-locate any volunteer for whatever reason.

Office hours are 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

If you choose to become a volunteer, you will become a vital part of our health care team.
