Memorial Health System to Celebrate “Hope for the Holidays”
Memorial Health System is partnering with Lifeline of Ohio for “Hope for the Holidays,” which will be held on Tuesday, November 29 at 6 p.m. in the Strecker Cancer Center Conference Room.
“Hope for the Holidays” is an event organized by Lifeline of Ohio Organ Procurement (LOOP) for donor families to make Christmas decorations in honor of their loved one(s). Recipients of organ donations will be there to thank the donor families. The event is an occasion to pay tribute to those heroes who said “yes” to organ and tissue donation.
“This event is a way to pay tribute to their generosity and offer support to donor families as they enter the holiday season”, says Sue McDonald, LOOP liaison for Marietta Memorial Hospital (MMH).
The event is a joint celebration with MMH and Selby General Hospital’s LOOP programs. Every day 18 men, women and children die while waiting for an organ transplant. Every 10 minutes, another person is added to the national waiting list for organ donation.
For more information on this event or about becoming an organ donor, contact Sue McDonald, LOOP liaison for MMH, at (740) 374-4926.
